WATERFRONT HOME FOR THE GUILD!
The redevelopment of Inverclyde's theatre and arts centre - the Arts Guild - has been recognised by the Scottish Arts Council as one of six truly outstanding initiatives in Scotland, and in April 2005 they offered £2.7 million of Lottery money towards the cost of the project, confirming the Arts Council's view of the Guild's importance both to the people of Inverclyde and to the wider arts community.
As a result of ongoing consultations and support from the Council and local Urban Regeneration Company, Riverside Inverclyde, the Guild has been presented with an opportunity to relocate the entire project away from its existing site in Campbell Street, Greenock, which it has occupied for more than 60 years.
Following several months of design work and negotiations, the Guild can now announce that Inverclyde’s new centre for the arts will be in a brand new building located on the site of the former Lamont's dry dock adjacent to the historic East India Harbour in Greenock.

The architect's visualisation of the 500 seat auditorium
- 100,000 people of all ages use the Guild every year
- Most weekends our theatre is packed with an audience enjoying a good night out
- Our building is now 120 years old and it is time to transform it into a vibrant,
purpose-built arts complex fit for the 21st century.
Despite the generous sums of money on offer, if the Guild is to become a centre of excellence for the arts in Inverclyde we still face the challenging task of raising the balance.
We value YOUR help in achieving this vision and need you to consider how you
can play your part in this exciting project !!!
Your help will make this happen!
